Databáze větrných mlýnů a čerpadel

Dear windmill fans,

Following the example of our colleagues, we have decided to gradually build a database of information about all preserved as well as defunct windmills and wind pumps in the Czech republic.

logo Sekce větrné mlýny

In the first phase of this project we will concentrate on 200 objects. This includes all preserved and accessible wind mills, mills with turbines and complete water pumps. Later we will add the rest of the existing mills and wind pumps and in the all we will add all defunct and documented objects of mills and pumps. We will also extend user functions of the websites (for example search engines).

We would like to thank to Mr. Petr Veselý for providing us with space on the well established address povetrnik.cz, and Mr. Rudolf Šimek for his permission to get inspiration from the website www.vodnimlyny.cz, and we also want to thank the clever programmers from the company Impire. The Database has been developed thanks to the resources provided by the members of the Department of wind mills at the Technical museum in Brno and the contribution of Mrs Therese Bergmann from Retz. Additional sponsorship would allow us to complete these websites and make further improvements. If you are interested, you can find contact for the author and the dedicated bank account number here.

Current content of the websites povetrnik.cz has been archived and it can still be found here.

For easier navigation on this website, you can find the summary of the basic information and definitions of individual concepts here. We welcome any new informations, written or photographic proofs of existing or already defunct objects. Additional topics for this website are also very welcome. You can will help us make this web even better.
